Gjergj Neli, lawyer and relative of Kreshnik Mujeci, who was killed along with his wife in today's assassination in Lezha, has reacted publicly through a statement on social media.
In his reaction, he expresses his pain for the tragic loss and solidarity with the family, while strongly condemning the criminal act and demanding a full investigation of the incident by law enforcement agencies.
The lawyer calls on the media and public opinion to be careful in reporting the event, clearly rejecting allusions to revenge or blood feud motives. According to him, there is no basis for such connections and requests that the investigation not be limited to one lead.
He also emphasizes that Kreshnik Mujeci has not been found guilty in relation to an event in 2017, recalling that the case has been reviewed and closed by justice institutions.
At the end of the reaction, lawyer Neli appeals for responsibility from the media and for full transparency from the authorities, while demanding justice for the victims of the assassination.

For the serious and macabre event of the assassination attempt against Kreshnik Mujeci and his family
It is with great sadness and regret that we learned the bitter news regarding the serious incident of an assassination that occurred today in the village of Balldren, Balldre Administrative Unit, Lezha Municipality, where citizens Kreshnik Mujeci and Gentjana Mujeci tragically lost their lives. Therefore, for this macabre assassination, we express our deep pain and solidarity with the families of the victims at this difficult moment.
We strongly condemn this serious criminal act and demand from law enforcement agencies a full and swift investigation of the incident, as well as holding the perpetrators accountable.
At the same time, we publicly condemn the statements of some media outlets, which have alluded that this event is mainly related to revenge motives, since the blood and tribe of the Mujecs have no obligation to them. Versions of this nature may be one of the suspected leads for law enforcement agencies, but we advise that other leads regarding the criminal event that occurred should not be forgotten.
Kreshnik Mujeci was a regular and loving family man, respected by his relatives and the entire community around Lezha and Shkodra, who engaged in livestock farming together with his late wife to make a living in the service of the family.
These claims are untrue and unfounded beyond any doubt regarding the 2017 event in Mali i Jushi, which has been handled and exhausted by the competent bodies, namely the Shkodra Prosecution Office, as well as the Shkodra Court of First Instance and the Shkodra Court of Appeal.
At the end of these processes, citizen Kreshnik Mujeci was found not guilty in relation to that event. Consequently, any attempt to link today's event with such allegations is unacceptable and violates the truth, as well as unfairly burdens the victims' families.
We call on the media to show professional responsibility, verify information, and avoid spreading inaccurate news that could negatively impact public opinion and the dignity of families allegedly involved in the conflict.
For this reason, we demand justice and clarification of the incident, complete transparency about this macabre and serious event.
May God strengthen the family and all friendships wherever they are.
