The Portuguese Ruben Saraiva has appeared in the Court of Lezha with the request of the defense for a change in security measures or the presentation of evidence by the Prosecution.
His lawyer, Kujtim Cakrani, after the end of the session, said that there is no evidence, while the prosecution has requested personal items from Morocco.
Saraiva's defense has asked the prosecution to expand the investigation referring to the "Metamorfoza" operation, as according to them, other facts have emerged that the prosecution should investigate, since the Portuguese Ruben Saraiva is innocent in this case.
Saraiva was arrested in Morocco and then extradited to Albania after being accused of murdering businessman Ardian Nikulaj, inside his bar in Shengjin. This criminal event occurred on the afternoon of April 19, 2023.
Edmond Haxhia is suspected of being the organizer, orderer and financier of the murder. He is the son of Elton Lekstakaj's uncle. Nikulaj was at odds with the Lekstakaj tribe since 1997 due to a claim that 10,000 old leks were not paid in a fuel.
