New details have come to light from the destruction of the criminal gang in Italy, while 24 people were arrested.
The Italian media reports that the arrested are: 2 Italians and 16 Albanians, 5 Moroccans and a Tunisian. According to the accusations, the arrested were involved in drug trafficking in Italian and Swiss territory. They are also accused of aiding and abetting prostitution, robbery and extortion.
The drug trafficking network was based in the Milan area, but was in constant contact with Albania, Italian media inform.
The arrests were made in the provinces of Milan, Brescia, Bergamo, Cremona, Lecco, Lodi, Mantua, Monza Brianza, Piacenza, Savona, Turin, Varese and Cosenza. Also, 40 checks were carried out for the seizure of the products of drug trafficking activity.
Meanwhile, as part of the operation, 42 kg of narcotics were seized, among them heroin, cocaine and hashish, and 40 kg of mixers, 2 rifles and 13 thousand euros in cash.
Also identified were an apartment and a warehouse used as a drug refinery, as well as several apartments and garages used to store drug shipments.
