Two Brazilian citizens have been criminally prosecuted after they adapted an apartment for prostitution in the city of Durrës.
The police announce that they have also initiated criminal proceedings against two Albanian "clients".
During the operation, a total of 1,080 euros, 116,700 lek, 120 US dollars, 80 British pounds, 150 francs and 3,430 dinars were seized, as well as two foreign passports, 8 mobile phones, phone cards and notepads.
"Following successive operations to crack down on prostitution, the Trafficking Investigation Section, with the support of the Special Operational Force, finalized the 14th phase of the police operation codenamed "Storm", followed by special investigation methods for a 2-week period, for the criminal offenses of "Prostitution" and "Adaptation of premises for prostitution".
As a result of this operation, citizens Th. C., 35 years old, and AF, 39 years old, born in Brazil, were released.
Two citizens ED and SA, residents of Durrës, were also prosecuted at large for the criminal offense of "Prostitution".
A total of 1,080 euros, 116,700 lek, 120 US dollars, 80 British pounds, 150 francs and 3,430 dinars, as well as two passports of foreign citizens, 8 mobile phones, phone cards and notepads were seized as material evidence.
"The investigative actions carried out for the purposes of this proceeding resulted in these citizens having rented an apartment in the Volga area, neighborhood no. 1, Durrës, which they had adapted for the purpose of carrying out the activity of practicing prostitution. The procedural materials were passed on to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Durrës," the police announced.
