"It will be at the Book Fair and the bookstore", Ben Blushi announces

Renowned writer and publicist, Ben Blushi, has shared a story about his newest novel, which is expected to be published in early November.

While at the printing house to proofread the final version of the manuscript, Blushi tells of a surprising experience he had with several writers and publishers, who read it and gave different reactions.

Blushi says that one writer, the first to have the text in his hands, described the novel as a work that would divide Albanian literature into two periods, before and after it. Another, more enthusiastic, suggested to the author “that he definitely publish it and with every sacrifice.”

But a publisher viewed it with skepticism and her response to the author was that she could not publish the novel, because, according to her, "the one up top" would not allow it.

Blushi writes that he initially thought it was a religious obstacle, but later realized that “the man up there” was the publisher’s husband. Another publisher read the novel halfway through and, horrified, could not continue. While a third publisher, without hesitation, said: “I am not afraid. I am an atheist.”

After this "confrontation", Blushi emphasizes that he has decided to choose a third publisher... But not only that, he leaves open the possibility of a fourth edition, without yet revealing what is written in the work.

The author has kept the full content of the new novel a mystery. A subject that seems likely to provoke strong reactions when it is promoted and will take its place on the stands of the Book Fair next month or in the bookstores of the capital and beyond.

"I was at the printing house proofreading the final version of my new novel, which is coming out in early November."

It's too early to reveal more about the content, but to calm my doubts, I gave the manuscript to two writers and three publishers.

The first writer said that this novel divides Albanian literature into two parts: before and after it.

The second writer said you must definitely publish it and at any sacrifice.

The first publisher told me I couldn't publish it because he wouldn't let me.

At first I thought the man up there was God, but later I found out it was her husband.

The second publisher read it halfway through and was so horrified that she couldn't read the other half.

The third publisher told me, "I'm not afraid. I'm an atheist."

I chose the third one.

"I don't know if I'll need a fourth one," Blushi writes on Facebook.
