"Tano Cariddi" passes away, Italian cinema icon dies at the age of 76
 The late actor, Remo Girone

Film icon Remo Girone has passed away forever.

Black news for cinematography. Italian actor Remo Girone has passed away at the age of 76.

Girone died at his home in Monaco, where he had lived for years with his wife Vittoria, after a life dedicated to film and theater and the popularity he achieved with a character that defined the era: Gaetano "Tano" Cariddi.

Born in Asmara, Eritrea, Girone from 1987 onwards, his masterful portrayal of the corrupt and scheming accountant Cariddi, a symbol of the collaboration between the mafia and finance, made him a television icon.

His stern figure and icy gaze remain etched in the collective memory.

But Girone's career has been much more than just one role. From collaborations with masters like Ettore Scola (The Voyage of Captain Fracassa) and Andrea Molaioli (The Jewel), to international ones with directors of the caliber of Peter Greenaway, his versatility has always been his strong point.

In recent years, he has been able to reinvent himself, taking part in successful projects such as the comedy What the Brain Is Telling Us and the Hollywood epic Le Mans '66 - The Great Challenge , where he lent his charismatic face to Enzo Ferrari. He also recently appeared in The Equalizer 3 -Without respite.
