The short film by the Albanian director Erenik Beqiri triumphed at the Venice Biennale.
"A short trip" was declared the best short film at La Biennale di Venezia, in the "Orizzonti" category!
In the center of this film, there is a couple in court during the exodus from Albania. The narrative features a generation willing to trade their beautiful years for an unpredictable future.
Although the film had the support of the French Embassy, and was shot in France, Beqiri declared that he considers it an Albanian production and story.
The participating protagonist actors are Luana Bajrami, Tristan Halilaj, Arben Bajraktari and Walid Afkir...
"The film was shot in Marseille, over 5 days. This was my first film set in a foreign country, where three different languages were spoken: Albanian, English and French. Like any other film set, you are in a constant struggle with the time and the fact that we managed to shoot the film in 5 days is thanks to the good organization of the team... I think that the film is Albanian, starting from the fact that the event of the film comes from an Albanian context, the main actors are also Albanian , and above all, I am also Albanian," said Beqiri.
The 80th Venice International Film Festival is organized by the Venice Biennale and directed by Alberto Barbera.
