Prime Minister Edi Rama has mocked the Democratic Party. During his speech at the SP Assembly, the Prime Minister stated that 'the SP has more new MPs than the entire body of losers of May 11'.
Rama also said that young men and women should continue to prepare with the same seriousness during the political academy, while the SP will help them adapt.
"53 out of 83 members of our group are entering the Assembly for the first time. We have more new MPs entering for the first time than the magnificent body of victorious losers of May 11. Prime Minister Edi Rama has proposed amending the Constitution and said that it is now time to have a Parliament with fewer deputies.
In his speech at the SP Assembly, Rama said that it is time for Parliament to have 101 deputies, or even fewer, according to him, if possible, from the current 140.
"We need a new cycle of reform for several important institutions, including the Assembly. After 10 legislatures and 1136 elected deputies, the first thing that every Albanian rarely agrees on is the excess number of deputies. Reducing the number of deputies in the Assembly to at least 101 deputies would only have a positive impact in more than one aspect. Therefore, this positive change should be our objective, it coincides with the will of our voters, even those who voted in other directions," said Rama.
Prime Minister Rama, during his speech at the Socialist National Assembly, listed what he called the "three peaks" of the next mandate. In front of the elected Socialist MPs, Rama said that they have the task of completing the negotiations by the end of 2027, ratifying the membership in the member states and raising the Albanian flag in the courtyard of the EU.
"Our national mission of joining Europe has never been clearer and more clearly reflected in the governing program than today. Our task has never been clearer and more concrete than in this fourth consecutive mandate of the SP for Albania 2030: To close the accession negotiations in the next 27 months, at the end of 2027. After demanding from the Tirana Municipal Council the dismissal of Erion Veliaj and the announcement of new elections for the capital's municipality, Edi Rama has proposed Ogerta Manastirliu as a candidate for mayor.
Manastirliu currently holds the position of Minister of Education, but Rama's decision seems to have caught her by surprise.

Prime Minister Edi Rama has given a message to the socialist members of the Tirana Municipal Council, telling them that they should gather and dismiss Mayor Erion Veliaj.

A day after resigning as mayor of Vlora, Ermal Dredha went to the Socialist Party National Assembly being held at the Palace of Congresses.
