Shkodra is shaken by bullets again, the number of victims rises to two; a member of Bajri's group was targeted

The death toll from the shooting in Shkodra rises, one of the injured dies in hospital.

Sources indicate that the person who passed away is the bodyguard of Bajri's group member, Erogen Vasos (Brajovic).

The perpetrator, who was arrested just minutes after committing the attack, abandoned his motorcycle at the scene and fled in a car.

The perpetrator was also involved in an accident during the police pursuit, but managed to cross to the train tracks in the Kir River bed.

The three injured have been identified as Erogen Vaso, a waitress and an acquaintance of Vaso, while the victim has been identified as citizen Armando Pali. 

Erogen Vaso alias Brajovic is suspected of being the target of the assassination attempt that rocked Shkodra this Monday morning, leaving one person dead and three injured. Erogen Vaso alias Brajovic, who was injured, is the brother of Denis Bajri (Brajovic).

Vaso is a well-known name in Shkodra because he was a member of the municipal council, but also involved in criminal acts. His name Erogen Vaso appeared in a SPAK file in 2023 as part of the Bajra group of Shkodra. At that time, 14 security measures were issued for charges of premeditated murder, structured criminal group, providing conditions for murder, corruption, abuse of office and disclosure of investigative secrets.

Initially, he was a municipal councilor with the Union for Human Rights Party, led by Vangjel Dule. In 2007, he was charged with the criminal offense of “coercion by threat or violence for the purpose of obtaining property.” But after this charge, Erogen Vaso was “rehabilitated” by entering politics.

While his brother, Denis Bajri (Brajovic), was extradited from Dubai on July 23 of this year.  

A mafia assassination attempt occurred this morning in a bar in the center of Shkodra.

One of the victims of this assassination attempt was Armando Pali, a former member of the Shkodra Municipal Council and, according to reports, an IKMT employee in the northern capital.

Meanwhile, Erogen Vaso alias Brajovic, Denis Bajri's brother, was injured. As a result of the shooting, the bar's waiter and a woman, who was a customer, were also injured.

Police have arrested a suspect in the crime. He is 28-year-old Rakip Gila, a name known to police. Gila was arrested while attempting to flee. According to reports, the suspect entered the bar while wearing a motorcycle helmet and opened fire.

He then attempted to leave in a vehicle, leaving the motorcycle at the scene, but had an accident while leaving, which appears to have led to his arrest.

Two years ago, he was arrested by police during an operation in the Partizani neighborhood in Shkodra, where 7 bulletproof vests, 2 pairs of gloves, 3 masks, 2 wigs, combat ammunition, 1 metal skull, 1 shotgun, other illegal items, as well as a quantity of cannabis were seized. Giles was charged with 3 criminal offenses at the time.

According to preliminary information, Pali is an employee of the Shkodra Territory Protection Inspectorate, and previously was a member of the city's Municipal Council.

Shkodra has been rocked by murders again, while just 4 days ago, 34-year-old Kristian Kola was executed by gunfire. He was shot to death by two masked men, who were riding a black motorcycle and managed to escape immediately after the execution. The young man was shot outside a bar.
