The head of the DP, Lulzim Basha, has stated that the Albanian government boasts of 10 million tourists, but according to him this is a lie.
From the Electoral Assembly of branch 3, Basha said that 60% of them are Albanians who return to their homeland to meet their families, while the rest are tourists with low expenses.
He emphasized that Albanian tourism is not able to sustain itself. Among other things, he also spoke about farmers and their problems, emphasizing that instead of being a net contribution to the Albanian economy, their products are thrown away.
"They boast that 10 million tourists entered Albania last year, it is a lie of course, as he was forced to admit a few days ago under the lines. Over 60% of them are Albanians who live outside Albania and come to visit their families, or Albanians from Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Greece, or anywhere else. The rest are low-budget tourists.
Albanian tourism is not able to sustain itself and no longer create a value chain which should normally double and triple the volume of agricultural production. He had to decide once and for all the well-being of the Albanian farmer. The Albanian farmer should have been a net contributor to the Albanian economy and not a survivor who has his head at the mercy of the state that does not come. On the contrary, the punishment comes, the fine comes, the day comes when the products, instead of being sold, are thrown away. The same thing with free professions", he said.
Basha said that Albania is the only country that treats the middle class as an enemy, as the government is afraid of factors that are not subject to power. He also spoke about the low pensions, saying that pensioners do not even have enough for the first week of the month.

For this reason, it has increased taxes on the middle class, to stimulate them to leave instead of staying here and producing value. The pensions of Albanian pensioners are not enough even for the first week of the month without the support of their family members, mainly those who live abroad", he said.
