Democratic leader Sali Berisha, during an electoral meeting with Albanians in Thessaloniki, as part of the campaign for the May 11 elections, said that the diaspora will sign the overthrow of the narco-state and the victory of democracy.
He has called on Albanians living abroad to vote and sign with their vote to return Albania to the Albanians.
" Sign, friends, to restore youth to the Albanian nation. Sign, to save Albania and Albanians from the disaster that is unfolding."
Sign, to establish democracy so that no one ever thinks about taking political mandates from MPs, mayors, or arresting opposition leaders to take the mandates for themselves.
In Albania, 12 years, I'm not talking to you because, you know where Albania was poor. But, in 2013, when the keys were handed over, Albanians, with those low salaries, but they were the highest in the region, with low pensions, but they were the highest in the region. Albanians, were not decreasing, but on the contrary, 180 thousand Albanian citizens from the diaspora and emigration were returning and returned. The number of Albanians in Albania was increasing every year.
So, the nation had youth. So, the nation had a dream. Because without youth, there is no dream, no future.
How did this massive expulsion of Albanians from Albania happen, my friends?
Two roads.
First, I remember when the executioner's son came out. I say that because his father signed the hanging of Havzi Nela. His father was a sculptor.
So, apparently a man of art. But, this man of art signed the hanging of a man of pose and letters, simply because with his poems he attacked the regime he served.
This successor of his, don't forget, went from screen to screen, with a hammer in his hand. He showed the Albanians the iron bars. Which Albanians? Those who hadn't paid their electricity bill, those who hadn't paid their water bill. But those were civil matters.
No one in the world solves them with iron bars. Civil matters are solved with civil matters.
And he imprisoned 37,000 Albanians in the second year of his government. Enver Hoxha has imprisoned, according to statistics, a total of 17,000 Albanians in one year.
He leveled entire streets, businesses, homes, everything. He said, "Go away, go away." Albania is not for you. And then, these people who received higher salaries and pensions are getting poorer every year.
But how can it be?
Yes. Prices were rising, salaries weren't rising. Prices were rising, pensions weren't rising.
"The food supply was dwindling, and your parents, your grandparents, were forced to tell you: boys, girls, accept your fate, take the roads, because there is no more here. And this is the truth ," Berisha said.
