The head of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, has requested the presence of Prime Minister Edi Rama at the plenary session for the interpellation called by opposition MPs.

During his speech in the Assembly, Bardhi accused the head of government of avoiding parliamentary responsibility by delegating interpellations to other representatives, who according to him do not have the competence and responsibility to respond to issues raised by the opposition.

The Democratic MP argued that the Constitution provides for the obligation of the Prime Minister and ministers to appear in interpellation, while emphasizing that there is no legal basis that allows the delegation of this obligation.

"It is the second interpellation that the opposition calls Rama and the prime minister delegates to persons without competence and responsibility.
The Constitution sanctions the obligation of the prime minister and ministers to appear in interpellation.
There is no article that gives the prime minister the right to delegate responsibility and accountability.
It is the same as if the prosecution summons you and they bring Erjona Ismaili, You can't do it, this is the same thing.
We do not accept to conduct interpellation with persons we have not requested, the prime minister must come and give an account. Rama has been refusing every interpellation for at least 3 years," he said.

Bardhi stressed that the opposition will not accept the holding of interpellations with delegated representatives, insisting that the Prime Minister himself must appear in the Assembly to answer questions and demands for accountability from MPs.
