Prime Minister Edi Rama seems to have "washed his hands" of the migrant agreement with Meloni.
He was asked in Spain if the agreement with Italy was failing, but the head of government responded by saying that you should ask Meloni about that.
According to Prime Minister Rama, Albania's role in this agreement is very simple, emphasizing that "it was asked by Italy to help."
" It is an operation 100% under Italian observation and responsibility. The movement, the observation of the centers is the responsibility of Italy ," Rama said.
The statements came at a conference before the signing of the agreement to organize the World Law Congress in 2027, to be held in Tirana.

Edi Rama: I have no opinion on this, the question should be directed to Meloni, because for us this agreement is simple. It is a simple role. We were asked by Italy to help, because for us the relationship is millennial with Italy. It has helped us a lot at extremely important moments. When the earthquake struck, Italian forces came to help, pulling people out of the rubble. It is an operation 100% under Italian observation and responsibility. -Don't you think there could be an agreement with Spain?
Edi Rama: I'm not sure it would make sense, it has to do with geography. We are connected by sea with Italy, the only thing that makes this agreement reasonable is that the migrants do not stop in Italy, but they stop in Albania. How feasible would it be for Spain to stop in Albania? I don't see it possible. Ultimately, I don't think this is the final solution to the migration crisis. Europe now has to deal with illegal migration and face a demographic decline. Europe needs to fight migration, but on the other hand, it needs more migrants. It's not a question of who shows more muscle towards migrants. This is the most dangerous thing we are doing to ourselves in Europe. This could destroy the soul of Europe. As long as there is no common policy on this, Europe will be in trouble. If Europe goes beyond this and does something much more comprehensive, creating a different way of dealing with countries of origin, it will be a big win.
