Besart Xhaferri, a candidate on the closed list of the DP, who was present at CEAZ number 32 in Shkoza, stated that the results so far from the vote counting are not as satisfactory as expected.
Asked by Euronews what he thinks of Berisha's role after this "defeat" for the DP from the current results, Xhaferri said that Berisha should aim for the will of the democrats in the future.
"I see a narrowing of the gap with the 2021 results. Berisha's mandate ends in April 2026. I think that there will be no quick election process within the DP, because it would be a certification of this election result. As for the statute, I think that Berisha must fight for the will of the Democrats during this remaining year of his mandate, and then the statute is something that we believed in when we did the re-establishment.
"I have no doubt that it can be violated, in any way. That the president has at least one more year of his mandate to fight the most important battle of his life, which is the recognition of the electoral massacre and that of the diaspora vote, which will be very valuable," said Xhaferri.
