Socialist MP Erion Braçe has reacted after the tragic news of the death of two sisters from Delvina in an accident that occurred a few days ago.
He immediately demands the amendment of two laws in the Road Code and the Criminal Code, which deal with road accidents and the abuse of power by state employees who also use service weapons for criminal events.
Braçe calls it a murder and not a road accident, as the driver who hit them was drunk, so he is calling for the law for these cases to be changed and made stricter.
"Two very young girls were escorted to their last apartment yesterday.
I can't imagine the pain of their mother, their father, everyone who knew them and shared their short lives with them! It's terrible, there is no comfort, at all!
I've been hearing this since yesterday morning:
Accident, road accident!
Nooooo! It's not an accident!
Getting drunk, driving a car, going out on the road, speeding beyond the speed limit, overtaking the wrong way, and driving in front of another person in their lane is not an accident, nor is it an accident resulting in death!
It is a murder resulting in the death of two young girls and the injury of a third.
Our Highway Code and our Criminal Code do not recognize this notion, yet on the streets it even happens as intentional murder!
We need to change the two laws as soon as possible;
I heard yesterday that the driver was arrested, he was drunk, he was speeding, he overtook in the wrong direction;
He was arrested, what next? Will he be investigated and tried for an accident resulting in death? He's not like that!
Second, I heard just yesterday that the author is an employee of the Ministry of Interior; I don't know if this is true or not.
But a new law on responsibilities beyond the work they do for state employees should be drafted as soon as possible, now! They should definitely have public responsibilities, more than any ordinary citizen.
I often hear, he used his service weapon and killed his wife, attacked his neighbor, threatened another person at the bar, built without a permit, violated the law, and in the end, he was a state employee.
This should not happen again!
By law, every state employee must be held accountable and restricted from acts that are inherently illegal by using the power of being in a state office! ", writes Braçe.
