The Special Court has sentenced Fatos Tushen, the former mayor of Lushnja, to two years of probation, as he is accused of not declaring his assets.
The prosecution asked for Tushe's sentence of 1 year and 5 months in prison, but due to the shortened trial, he would benefit from a reduction of the sentence by 1/3.
Only a few months after serving the sentence of 3 years and 4 months in prison for abuse of office and violation of equality in tenders, Fatos Tushes started another investigation related to wealth.
It is about an apartment on the coast which he has not declared.
The former socialist mayor was sentenced in July 2022 to 2 years and 4 months in prison for malfeasance by the Special Court of the First Instance, only for malfeasance, while the crime of violating equality in tenders fell, while SPAK demanded his punishment with 5 years.
In March of last year, the Special Appeal increased Fatos Tushe's sentence by 1 year when the latter had just left the cell after serving his sentence.
He returns to prison to complete the remainder, this time for the criminal offense of Violation of equality in tenders.
