Saudi Arabia requests Albania: Influence the Security Council to lift the siege in Gaza

The Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud, held a telephone conversation with his Albanian counterpart, Igli Hasan.

The main topic of their conversation was the war in Israel. They discussed the developments in Gaza and international efforts on this matter, to ensure the lives of civilians and respect for international humanitarian law.

Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud has urged Albania, in its role as a non-permanent member of the Security Council, to work to ensure that the Council fulfills its responsibility for maintaining international peace and security, urging an immediate cessation of military operations and the lifting of the siege of Gaza.

Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud emphasized the importance of implementing the Council's decisions regarding the Palestinian issue. Special resolutions 242 (1967), 338 (1973), 1515 (2003) and 2334 (2016), to establish a just and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue in accordance with international references.
