The Minister of Health, Ogerta Manastirliu, has responded to the accusation of the chairman of the DP parliamentary group, Gazment Bardhi, who asked her to resign.
Manastirliu said that the Ministry of Health is distanced from the news about the arrest of the general secretary of the Ministry of Health, Joana Duro.
The minister added that everyone is equal before the law.
"My position is firm and clear not only for this event, from which we distance ourselves as an institution. We will always have this attitude for any case of violation of law, duty, etc. And this person who violates these will face justice. This has been my objective since I took office. The case is serious, it must be investigated. If it comes out, just as the suspicions are to face the law. Every person who takes office in the public entity also takes responsibility before the law. This is the reason why we initiated and carried out the justice reform. Everyone is equal before the law. I understand that you have a hard time understanding this. You have a hard time because in the past whoever was under investigation continued to run the institutions from home. Who killed, ran high institutions. So, today you can understand my position and tone on this matter. All equal before the law. Your habit is already known, you want to become lawyers, court prosecutors. You want to do these roles and you want to run around politically. But thanks to God, today we have justice and independent justice bodies. And unlike you, I respect them."-said Manastirliu.
