With the statutory changes and renewal of the National Council, Basha paves the way for purges in the ranks of the DP....
Lulzim Basha has decided to "cement" the positions at the head of the DP. Today he held the National Assembly of this party, where a series of statutory changes will be approved, changes which seem to silence the critics.
The first innovation is that Basha will be the chairman of the group himself. Currently this position is held by Bardhi, but it seems that he will be displaced. Another strong development is that the members of the National Council will be changed today in the National Assembly.
Since Basha did not have the majority of the council behind him, today it was decided that all critics should leave. The National Council is the body that enables all decisions to be made, and by placing his loyalists there, Basha has a free hand to make all possible decisions.
Another element is that in the Statute there is no definition on the responsibility of the president in case he loses the elections. While until now it was that he was trusted going to the elections, now it has been removed as a determination and the chairman will not bear any responsibility.
The change of the Council paves the way for Basha to make changes in the Presidency as well. This will then bring about the change of the General Secretary of the party and the vice presidents. Most likely, in the following days, the new Council will be convened and Bardhi's dismissal is expected and new vice-presidents will be appointed, given that there are currently no vice-presidents.
However, the final test seems to be the court. The new statute must go to the Court of Tirana and if it accepts it then Basha strengthens his position at the head of the party. Meanwhile, Bardhi's group will most likely appeal and this means that we will have a new judicial conflict. / Pamphlet
