The head of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, today in Dibër, presented the DP's proposals for the Electoral Reform.
During his speech, Basha listed some of DP's plans to be approved, from open lists to vetting in politics. He emphasized that this is the path where the change will go, which according to him Albanians need.
"I am aware that in our ranks, as President Gazidede also said, we lack not only those who may have had problems of the day, but also tens and hundreds who have left in the last months and two years due to of the lack of hope, of despair that has plagued the whole country.
Undeniably bad governance that pisses people off. But the lack of opposition, the lack of alternative is not boredom, it is despair for a country. And now, two years after an unprecedented situation, it is time to affirm that the Democratic Party, for circumstances and reasons that have nothing to do with any of you, nor the democrats of sacrifice wherever they are, was not in charge.
For two years in a row, the Democratic Party was not where the citizens want it, near the people and their problems, our voice was not heard to protect and denounce the wrongdoers and injustices at the expense of the citizens.
Nor to reveal alternatives to a tired government, corrupt to the core with no solution but only problems for them. But on July 29 and not even in the Assembly of September 2, the democrats took the decisions.
The decisions to get out of this state of limbo, to come out once again as an alternative and as an opposition before the Albanians, firstly with the determination to become their voice, and to convey their voice everywhere and secondly with the decision to rebuild once again the alternative of a just government, by the people and for the people", said Basha.
