Sali Berisha, leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (DP), has returned to the OSCE/ODIHR report on the May 11 elections, while stating that the Special Prosecution Office remained indifferent to electoral crime.
At the meeting of the DP Parliamentary Group, Berisha said that this final report should be explained to the DP membership.
" We must present to our membership this analysis that we are doing, of all these findings, and alongside them the international resolutions of the most powerful center-right organizations in Europe and the world."
The report emphasizes that, in examining the electoral crime, the party's Skapi was indifferent. It did not examine what constitutes a major stain on attitudes towards the freedom of the vote, but on attitudes towards the foundation of democracy, the foundation of values.
The international report, I said, is of extraordinary importance as it expresses in the terminology of international institutions what previous resolutions express. Organized crime, the report says, was active in the elections, in Elbasan, Durrës, Lezha and a series of other districts.
I recall here a statement by the honorable MP Michael Gahler, who is the rapporteur and coordinator of the EPP parliamentary group. He declared before the EPP political assembly that in Albania, organized crime does not allow rotation.
The OSCE/ODIHR report states that the country's electoral law was violated dozens, hundreds and thousands of times. There are 4,530 activities in conflict with the law. And these, for Altin Troplini, do not constitute violations of the law, on the contrary, as he said in parliament, we have not found any.
The report, after denouncing the notorious patronageists, this hated police of the free vote of Albanians, labels it as a development that does not comply with the international principle of free elections. For Altin Troplini, international election principles do not matter, what matters is the statute of the Socialist Party and Edi Rama's platform.
This is the truth.
The report repeatedly emphasizes that the ruling party used unlimited human, financial, logistical, and decision-making resources to change and create an uneven playing field in the elections. It created uneven elections. It violated the most fundamental principle.
So, it violated the principle of equal conditions in competition ," he said.
