The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, accused the government of violating the vote and free will of citizens, during a speech at the next rostrum held in Kamëz.
In his statement, Berisha said that, according to him, after the period of Enver Hoxha, the country is facing the fiercest enemy of free voting.
Berisha said that these 12 years have been difficult for this city, as everything has stalled.
Berisha accused the mayor of Kamza of destroying the infrastructure of this city, while the green spaces of the area are being replaced by the concrete of buildings.
Excerpt from the speech of the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha:
Good evening and my warmest greetings to you, the democrats of Kamza present in this hall, the residents of this city, wherever you are tonight, in Kamza, in Albania, abroad.
Dear Mr. Chairman of the Kamza branch of the Democratic Party, dear Mr. Ali Mehmeti, Mrs. Garo, distinguished friends.
I am very pleased to come to you today.
First, to express the most boundless gratitude to each of you, to every democrat and supporter of the Democratic Party and the opposition in this city, who, with unwavering faith in the Democratic Party, succeeded in making Kamza, which you built, which you raised from nothing, one of the largest cities in Albania, one of the largest cities in Albania, a city in line with your ideals, to remain steadfast, undefeated in the truths and values that you believe in.
I come here with a feeling of deep gratitude, because in the last elections you overturned the previous results and we move confidently towards the new competitions with great confidence in victory.
But I also come to humble myself before you for the fact that 12 years have been the years of the greatest injustices that have befallen you. They have been the years of the most undeserved discrimination against you. They have been the years in which most of your families have been forced to accompany their children on the streets of the world, because there has been no opportunity for them to stay in their family homes and build their dream. They have been the years in which time has almost stopped in Kamza with this mayor, the pseudo-mayor that you have. Kamza has been left with an infrastructure in disrepair.
Those lands, those environments that were necessary for a city that is the sixth largest in Albania by number of inhabitants, were eaten and are being eaten one by one by the concrete of Edi Rama and the mayor.
But these have been years of despair. They have been years in which pensions, not only did not increase, but compared to prices, became increasingly smaller. Likewise, low and middle salaries.
So, years of a regime that in Kamëz and throughout Albania has behaved like a true conqueror. It has behaved like a true conqueror because, first of all, by violating your vote, your free will, just like in cases of conquests and dictatorships, all power was concentrated in the hands of one man.
There have been years in which you have shed rivers of sweat in electoral campaigns.
You won the elections, but the most vicious enemy of the free vote of Albanians after Enver Hoxha, Edi Rama, has transformed the electoral process into an electoral farce, into an electoral farce.
He has created the blackest market of all markets in the electoral campaign, which is the market of votes, the market of will, the market of people's ideals.
He has used all anti-democratic, unconstitutional methods to rob citizens of their votes.
