The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, reacted in Parliament during the speech of the Minister of Agriculture, Andis Salla, harshly criticizing the oil subsidy policies.
During his speech, Berisha challenged the minister to bring an example from European Union countries that have removed fuel subsidies in the agricultural sector.
"Let him find a single country in the EU that has abolished the oil subsidy. Not a single country! I tell you. The countries in the EU are divided into 3 groups, those that provide maximum, average and lowest subsidies. This year, Germany switched to maximum subsidies. Your greatest merit is that you include sows in the reward. You have done well ," Berisha said.
The debate comes at a time when the issue of subsidies for the agricultural sector and fuel costs remains one of the main topics of political discussion in the country.
