The democratic parliamentary group has come up with an official position that belongs to the party organization. Today, for nearly 2 hours, there was a meeting, in which 16 deputies participated. Some of the deputies came out against holding the elections for the president now. Bardhi himself came up with a proposal to start the organization from the ground up.
At the end of the meeting, the proposal was consolidated and the group came out with an official position. It is about a 5-point platform, which basically blocks the holding of elections for the president now. The group proposes that the party be run collegially and that this collegium first organizes grassroots elections and finally the chairman. But this proposal was expected to be discussed tomorrow in the Presidency, where there are many voices against Bardhi and Tabak.

The parliamentary group of the Democratic Party has come out with an official position regarding the situation created within the DP as a result of the division and defeat in the May 14 elections. In one of the points of the position held, it is emphasized that it is necessary to create a joint working group that will follow the steps for the certification of the current membership, the elections at the level of sections and branches as well as the initiation of the process for the election of the new chairman of the party .
THE PARLIAMENTARY GROUP OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY EXPRESSES THE POSITION AS FOLLOWS:
1. Differences in opinions and positions on various issues within the Democratic Party should not defocus the party from its mission to become a governing alternative. In this context, it is urgent to immediately stop any attack, defamation or hate speech against any member of the party or anyone who thinks differently.
2. Reorganization of the Democratic Party of Albania, with the aim of uniting the democrats, strengthening the party and building a modern, comprehensive party that creates trust among the majority of Albanian citizens, engaging and bringing together reputable individuals who serve to protect the interest public.
3. The creation of a joint working group for the follow-up and implementation of the reorganization process, according to a clear, transparent and comprehensive plan, which follows these steps:
- First step: Opening the party and certification of current membership;
- The second step: The beginning of the election process at the section, group section and branch level;
- The third step: The process of electing the chairman of the Party.
4. The Working Group, which also carries out the political direction, sets up working groups at the district level to launch a grassroots awareness campaign with the aim of uniting the democrats, as well as strengthening and organizing the party without any prejudice and avoiding any divisive circumstances or factors.
5. The Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party does not support any hasty, one-size-fits-all organizational process that promotes division and deepens divisions within the Democratic Party. The process should only aim at strengthening and eliminating destructive debates within the party. For this purpose, assistance, support and consultation with European People's Parties and sister parties should be attempted.
