The head of the Movement for National Development, Dashamir Shehi, does not believe in the Re-establishment nor in its leadership, and even speaks against the creation of an opposition federation. According to him, there should be an internal debate within the opposition.
Shehi added that the opposition should not be unified around one person, but that it should preserve diversity within itself.
According to him, even the chaos created in the Assembly was a wrong move, as many laws were passed without any debate.
"I do not believe in the formula of the Re-establishment, nor in the leadership of the Re-establishment. That's why I invited my colleagues to make a new political trajectory. I think that the day has come for an internal debate within the Albanian opposition, the center-right, to have things that we discuss and think differently. If so, we are back to the old scheme, which produced nothing.
We were not enthusiastic, I am not even today. I asked to enter the parliament. Laws such as the budget were passed, the people did not understand anything. Time proved me right. Will we deal with the electoral reform? Do these gentlemen want to change the Electoral Code? Will we let SPAK work with all the problems it has? From this justice we are expecting to fight government corruption. There are some positive signs.
I'm all for them doing their job. Are we going to have a war to fix international relations? That's why I didn't have enthusiasm, the day has come when new people, new ideas must appear within the opposition. We have one thing in common, we are against the socialist government. We must amplify this.
I judge, I say that the day has come for the opposition to take every group of the electorate that belongs to it. I don't call it that dramatic. The opposition did not create its own people for each segment of the electorate, it cannot represent them with thousands of votes that the opposition lacks.
We as LZHK together with our allies will continue our program. The future of the opposition is this, to preserve the diversity within itself, unified around one person, it was understood as far as the limits are", he emphasized.
