The vice-president of the Democratic Party, Orjola Pampuri, has stated that the co-president of this political force at the electoral reform table is Enkelejd Alibeaj and there is no room for discussion.
In an interview with ABC News, Pampuri said that the Democratic Party has made a number of proposals, where he singled out the opening of lists. According to Pampuri, this is a request and he believes that it is the votes to pass it in the new Electoral Code.
" We are open and determined for changes in the Electoral Code. Undoubtedly, we have made our proposals for the opening of the lists, why not, a proposal was also a national proposal, the election of the president by vote, the vote of the diaspora, all these were the proposals of the opposition. Then, the debates about who will be co-chairman, the co-chairman from the PD side is Enkelejd ALibeaj. The rest then, are debates that serve the personal interests of x or y. We do not need to discuss who will be the co-president, we need the needs of the citizens to prevail. The need of the citizens is to have a new Electoral Code, where they have the opportunity to choose their favorites. I believe that such scenes cannot be joined by us as PD, our colleagues, who have chosen a group to make such scenes.
But as far as such needs are concerned, for the change of the Electoral Code, and the priority is the open lists, I think and believe that there will be no opposition. Definitely yes, I'm sure this will pass. As long as we are there from the citizens, and normally, this is a request of the citizens ", she emphasized.
