The DP leadership today approved the names of candidates who will enter the March 1 primaries, where the membership will vote, according to districts.
Tirana has the highest number of candidates for the primary with 80 names listed, while the relocation of MP Lefter Geshtenja from branch 7 in Tirana to the Elbasan district is noteworthy. It is also noteworthy that some of the members of the DP Presidency or the National Council are not included in the race.
But who are some of the names that, even though they have positions and posts in the DP, did not join the primaries?
Among them is former MP Aldo Bumçi, who seems to have withdrawn from active political life, while his wife, Ilda Zhulali, is included in the list of Tirana primaries.
Also missing from the list are lawyer Çlirim Gjata or Ylli Asllani. Also missing is former MP Genc Pollo. Also missing is Rudina Hajdari.
And also, many members of the National Council are missing from the list of candidates for the Primary.
Earlier, several MPs announced that they would not run in the Primary Election, giving the first signals that many others would not join the list of candidates.
