Democratic MP Jorida Tabaku has reacted regarding the Law on Strategic Investments, which according to her has been postponed for the third time.
Tabaku says that this law does not have any positive record of foreign investments, and moreover, it seriously harms the agreement and stabilization of the association, competition, competition and the free market.
The Law on Strategic Investments is postponed for the third time!
Last night, late at night, the third version of the Law on Strategic Investments was published on the website of the assembly with a proposal of a deputy (whenever they want to have no process, they give it to the deputies and submit it). The temporary law, which was made for a transitional period, is postponed for 10 years.
When we expected to discuss a complete investment law, the government continues with the most clientelistic and anti-property law of the last 30 years.
This law has no positive record of foreign investments out of 18 decisions of the investment council last year, only 2 are foreign; there is no additional employment, except for public and private probation.
This law seriously harms the agreement to stabilize the association, competition, competition, the free market and opportunities!', says Tabaku.
The deadline for the strategic investments law, which ended on December 31, 2023, is expected to be extended for another 3 years, until December 2027.
This was proposed by the socialist deputy Eduard Shalsi in the Assembly on the evening of January 24, 2024.
"Given that the interest of the subjects is still very high to have a legal package and the flow and stock of foreign investments in the country are at the highest figures compared to the last 10 years, in order to avoid the creation of this legal gap , as well as the consequences that can be created by it, it is intended to extend the deadline for submitting requests until December 31, 2027", says the report attached to the changes in the draft law signed by SP deputy Eduard Shalsi.
