The Democratic Party has engaged its structures in the protest held on "Dëshmorët e Kombit" Boulevard, but its leader, Sali Berisha, has chosen not to personally participate in the rally.

Asked by journalists if he would join the protest, Berisha said that the protest does not have a partisan character and that for this reason he does not want to be present in the square.

Journalists: Will you join the protest yourself?

Sali Berisha: "No, because it is not partisan. I am partisan. This is the truth and I never want those colors that the citizens have given to me to touch them. Every democrat there is without any party symbol. Let us respect this, let us learn to respect this magnificent phenomenon unprecedented in Albania."

The DP leader stated that the most important political objective that this movement could produce is the creation of a technical government that would guarantee the holding of free elections.

" A technical government, which prepares free elections, would be the biggest, most important development of this protest," Berisha said.

From the SPAK premises, where he appeared in implementation of the security measure "compulsory appearance" in the "Partizani" file, Berisha also commented on the departure of Shkodra MP, Marjana Koçeku, from the Socialist Party parliamentary group.

According to him, if this decision is related to the protests and the political climate created by them, it constitutes an act that deserves to be welcomed.
