Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has reacted regarding the visit of the American Secretary of State to Albania.
He said that the American official will hold meetings only with representatives of the majority, while he emphasized that he is under "house arrest" as a result of a political order.
According to him, monism in Albania is also installed because Edi Rama has been denying the 43 members of the opposition in Parliament their basic constitutional rights for a long time.
The former prime minister emphasizes that this is the visit of a state secretary after 33 years of pluralism, which unfortunately only has meetings with the State Party in the protocol.

Dear friends, the visit of the secretary of the US State Department is a very important event for any country and, moreover, for Albania, especially in this troubled period for the world and our region.
The Democratic Party, the main promoter of cooperation and friendship between Albania and the United States these 33 years, which officially introduced Albania to NATO a decade and a half ago, the main locomotive of Albania's EU integration processes, remains determined to support and not waver like until today the cooperation and friendship between our two countries and every effort in the framework of NATO, but also in the US bilateral level for peace and security in the region, Europe and beyond. Dear friends, today's visit of Secretary Blinken is the 6th visit of a Secretary of State to Albania. But this is the first visit of a state secretary, after 33 years of pluralism, which unfortunately, at least in the protocol, only has meetings with the State Party.
This is due to the massive violation of the vote by the government, today as never before in the history of the country, 95% of all high officials appointed or elected belong to the state party of Edi Rames.
Second, Edi Rama, currently the most corrupt prime minister in Europe to control the opposition in a super Watergate of this century bribed the head of counterintelligence of the New York FBI, Charles McGonigal and paid him at least 225 thousand dollars to manipulate files against the Albanian opposition. The documents prove that in addition to McGonigal, Louis Bladel, Marco Rossini, Edi Rama and his mentor George Soros lobbied hard for my declaration nongrata, without evidence, for corruption, that is, 8 years after I had resigned from any function.
They did this with the sole purpose of silencing the voices that strongly denounced Edi Rama's mega corrupt affairs, his terrible connections with crime in Albania, the region up to the Albanian bosses of Sinaloa in Mexico, but also the denunciation of Edi Rama's support of Serbian-Russian projects in the region such as the change of borders and the de facto division of Kosovo between Serbia and Albania.
They did this because we strongly opposed the Open Balkans project openly supported by Sergei Lavrov and just as openly by Alexis Soros, as well as his open defense of Belgrade at international summits for not respecting NATO sanctions and EU to Russia. But on this occasion I want to guarantee you friends that just as I wrote in my letter to Secretary Blinken in May 2021 that at the moment when the US government, its agencies or any other country will present a single piece of evidence or document to prove my corruption, Sali Berisha finally leaves politics.
The truth is that after three years of intensive and multifaceted investigations, the government, the judiciary controlled by it and no one else have been able to find any evidence or document to blame Sali Berisha, so I am today on the political orders of Edi Rama, like no other another opposition leader under arrest, but without any charge and with a process in violation of the Constitution and Albanian laws, but also of the International Conventions of Human Rights!
Today I am under house arrest by political order as a person under investigation because my son-in-law Jamarbër Malltezi, as one of the 510 thousand Albanian citizens who in the years 2006-2021 received a total of 1 billion 577 million 400 thousand m2 of land with return and compensation and he in full accordance with the law 410 m2 of his family's land confiscated by the communist regime 60 years ago (1 Link at the end)
Monism in Albania is also installed because Edi Rama has been denying the 43 members of the opposition in Parliament their basic constitutional rights for a long time. He does not accept the creation of parliamentary investigative commissions for his large corrupt mega-affairs, his PPP. Dubai City of Durrës, Butrint Park, for the Rama-McGonigal superscandal for which there is a trial tomorrow in Washington. He does not accept their elected representatives in parliamentary committees and with his strict control over justice and his public order keeps the leader of the largest opposition party under house arrest without charge, transforming Albania, a NATO member country, in Uganda or Tunisia of Europe.
With this act Edi Rama continues the tradition of his biological father, the former deputy of the dictator Ramiz Alia, who signed in August 1988 the last political execution in all of Eastern Europe, the hanging on the rope as a political opponent of the dissident poet Havzi Nela. For all this, I want to guarantee the Albanians and friends of Albania in the USA and everywhere in the world that the Albanian opposition is today more determined than ever to restore free elections and political pluralism in Albania based on the values of freedom that Secretary James Baker spoke about in front of 200 thousand Albanians 33 years ago.
