Augustin Palokaj, correspondent of "Koha" in Brussels commented on the visit of American Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Tirana.
Palokaj said that the reason why Blinken and the USA chose Tirana to deliver the American messages regarding the region, was that Albania is the only country in the region that does not have a problem with any country in the Western Balkans.

Blinken visits Albania as the only country in the region, but for a broader situation about the situation in the Western Balkans. Considering this situation, Tirana was chosen as the place for this visit. What we already know is expected. We know the American positions on Kosovo. Kosovo and Serbia must fulfill the obligations for the dialogue, which emerge from the process. In the case of Kosovo, they also express concerns that the US and the EU have called unilateral.
Blinken messages, signals are given. What echo did the news of the visit have in the region?
Tirana for a long time has been a center that has no problem with any country in the Western Balkans. Everyone can go for bilateral meetings.
Therefore, it is also an address to be visited by high officials of the EU and the USA.
What they do accept in Brussels is that the role of the US is important in the region. The EU and the US have a position regarding the Balkans. A small difference is that the US supports the "Open Balkans", while the EU has doubts about the initiative. They think that the ideas of the initiative should be concluded in the Berlin Process.
Albania is positioned in the right place in the international arena.

In Brussels, there was no echo and it was not considered important. The countries that participated in the debate said what the EU says, so they look critically at Kosovo's decision and look for a way to address the problems of the Serbian population.
