While the campaign for the May 11 parliamentary elections will officially begin on April 1, candidates for MPs from small parties have submitted resignation requests to the CEC.

What draws attention is the fact that out of 7 requests, 5 resignations are justified by health reasons, 1 for family reasons, and another because he does not know if he is allowed to run, since he is a teacher.

The resigned candidates belong to the 'Nisma Shqipëria Bëhet' coalition led by Adriatik Lapaj and Endri Shabani, as well as the PSD, Lëvizja Bashkë, ADR and the 'Mundësia' party.

2- Hyda Kuci, - PSD Berat - health reasons

3- Joan Sotir, - "Shqipëria Bëhet Initiative" of Adriatik Lapajt, Korça, - health reasons

4- Daniela Alite - PSD Durrës - health reasons

5- Xhilda Boçari, - 'Lëvizja Bashke' Korça - health reasons

6- Fadil Bekaj, - Opportunity Party, Fier - teacher

7- Edi Piring of ADR, Korça - family reasons

Meanwhile, another request filed with the CEC is that of Selami Jenisheri, who requests deregistration from the "Greater Albania" coalition led by Sali Berisha.

"We hereby inform you and demand that the electoral subject Party Popular Union of Albanian Pensioners renounce participation in the elections of May 11, 2025, for the Assembly of Albania, as an electoral subject and as part of the coalition "Alliance for a Greater Albania" registered for the elections of May 11, 2025, while the elections of May 11, 2025 are illegal, invalid and even unconstitutional and cannot be held, when the review of all complaints for the elections of April 25, 2021 has not yet been completed and thus according to the Electoral Code for the elections of April 25, 2021, mandates cannot be allocated, as they are illegal and in contradiction with the Electoral Code with which the elections of April 25, 2021 were held. In view of the above, the elections of May 11, 2025 become incomprehensible (null), illegal and unconstitutional and in any case until "No action can be taken on April 25, 2025, for the elections of May 11, 2025 ," the request states.
