Activist Evi Kokalari has commented on the recent situation within the right-wing camp, where it seems that even the official DP line is divided regarding the date for the election of the president on July 29.
Kokalari says that it is a pity that Berisha, instead of reviving the DP in the May 14 elections, sank it more with the coalition he made with Meta.
"It seems clear that Gazmend Bardhi has gained more strength after Basha's silence this past year, and this rift may be Bardhi's work, but it does not seem to me to be of great interest what will be done with the DP regarding the situation where the opposition is located is a sorry situation. PD has been destroyed, we have seen it during the last two years, there was a hope that Berisha would revive it, but with the coalition with Meta, it has destroyed it even more. He held a conference with several elements within the DP," she said.
Among other things, she has emphasized that she is disappointed by Berisha for the fact that instead of uniting PD and making an agreement with Alibeaj, he decided to bargain with Meta.
"I have allowed myself to be used and I have made it available. I am disappointed because Berisha had the opportunity to go to the May 14 elections under the PD logo with an agreement with Alibeaj, but he settled the bargain and went with Meta. At this moment we could have a turn, this was also my total disappointment, so I thought of something different", she said.
Kokalari also declares that if we want to see a united Democratic Party, it is important that Berisha does not withdraw, but that the young people must defeat him and Lulzim Basha at the same time.
"In my opinion, Basha is still the president because the resignation was not factual. Since he has been away, Bardhi has felt more empowered and I believe they have internal problems. Basha will come and it's the right moment after May 14, but the reality is that he no longer has support, and I don't believe that his arrival is a solution for a strong opposition, I don't know what Berisha thinks, Ilir Meta has been empowered more than before the president's term, then comes my movement, which will dominate in 2025.
Berisha should not resign, if we do not defeat Basha, Berisha and Meta, we do not have an opposition that can win. I can't tell someone to run away so I can take him, I don't believe that Basha shouldn't run away either. I would be very surprised if Basha and Berisha joined the two DPs, but if they both leave the game, it is the best", said Kokalari.
Also, Kokalari has emphasized that at the moment when the debate for the president is going on within the opposition, Rama, on the other hand, is getting stronger as much as possible.
