Between the dilemma of the primaries and the birth of new opposition parties on the eve of the May 11 elections, the electoral boat of the Democratic Party faces a troubled voyage towards the spring battle.
The fever of the lists has started to be felt in the blue headquarters, while the allies are still waiting for the coalition formula.
" What is important is the inclusion of as many right-wing subjects as possible in this coalition. Fractionation of the opposition would be bad. I remember 2021 because if the LSI's 120,000 votes were part of a coalition, they would undoubtedly have returned to more mandates, not four, as LSI received, and they would have a different ratio in parliamentary representation ," says Fatmir Mediu for TCH.
In the list of the Democratic Party there will be a place for historical allies. The negotiations are still open, but the chief republican Fatmir Mediu demands that the electoral arithmetic of the opposition leader be based on the electoral weight of the coalition parties.
" As for the electoral reports that will decide where one or the other will be, I think that the parliamentary political representation should be seen, but also their weight in different political circles ", he adds.
The Democratic Party is running divided into the spring battle. Deputies separated from it have created new political formations, such as Enkelejd Alibeaj and Agron Shehaj, while Lulzim Basha does not yet have the formula of how he will enter the elections.
But the democrats seem to have a challenge not only within their own kind, but also with new parties such as Lévizja Bashke or Albania Bëhet, which aim to undo the monopoly of the two big parties in the Parliament.
