Yesterday evening, another case of illegal possession of a weapon by a Guard employee was reported.
32-year-old Kristjan Gjini is accused of moving with a weapon without permission, while his exemption was immediately signed by the General Director of the Guard of the Republic.
Regarding this case, the Minister of the Interior Taulant Balla was forced to react again for the problematic officers.
Through social networks, Balla says that this phenomenon is being attacked by the police every day.
"Illegal firearms are being attacked every day. We will do everything, with more commitment than before, so that this crime open to the law and our society is fought by the State Police with determination, every day. Throughout the territory of the country, the State Police is organizing and carrying out daily attacks against this phenomenon.
Last night's arrest of an officer of the Republic Guard, for carrying weapons without a permit, already arrested and immediately expelled from the ranks of the Guard, clearly confirms the commitment that all offenders will fall into the net of law enforcement.
Also, during the operations against illegal possession of weapons, the State Police managed to prevent a serious criminal event at the right time. I am sure that I have the support of the citizens in combating this phenomenon, but I also ask for your understanding and cooperation, dear citizens, during the police checks, which will be frequent," writes Minister Balla.
