Prime Minister defends National Information Society Agency amid investigations, calling it a symbol of digitalization and modern services
Prime Minister Edi Rama reacted today to the accusations and investigations affecting senior officials of the National Agency for the Information Society (AKSHI), describing this institution as one of the government's greatest achievements in the modernization of administration and public services.
" AKSHI is an institution of pride for us. Pride, not to lower our heads, but to be proud ," Rama declared during the end-of-year conference, adding that digitalization has saved millions of euros for citizens and has made their daily lives easier.
According to the data he presented, AKSH has made it possible to save 620 million euros for Albanian citizens, thanks to the digitalization of public services. " 7600 years of waiting in line have been eliminated. That's 25 thousand rotations around the earth, if we were to imagine a line of people. That's what AKSH has done ," Rama added.
He emphasized that 3.4 million citizens are regular users of the e-Albania platform, and during 2025 alone, 17 million online services were provided and 12 million electronic documents were generated, with an average of 1.45 million services per month.
Rama did not comment directly on the investigations, but said that "bad is forgotten, while good has no end," implying that the institution's successes cannot be overshadowed by isolated cases that are the subject of justice.

This is what AKSHI has done, this is what AKSHI has done. There are 33 million euros in savings for Albanians abroad, calculated again and I repeat not by me, it is an international report. There are 75 million sheets of paper saved or 378 trucks of paper. Thanks to that AKSHI, 3.4 million Albanians are regular users of the e-Albania platform. And in 2025 alone, there are 17 million services offered, 12 million electronic documents generated. On average, 1.45 million services per month. People who click, receive the service and finish the job. Without meeting anyone, without doing anything, without being there. They used to pay money to get a certificate, but as you know, the bad is forgotten, the good has no end.
