On Friday, the Parliamentary Electoral Reform Commission will meet, while the parties seem to be ready to start work and for this they have asked for concrete help from the OSCE/ODIHR.
The Secretary for Public Relations in the Democratic Party, Edvin Kulluri, said that the object of the commission's work is expected to be the OSCE-ODIHR addresses as well as the opening of the lists.
"The demands of the OSCE-ODIHR, where the complaints of the opposition parties are reflected and secondly the issue of open lists, and I am convinced that it will be the subject of discussions. Even the vote of immigrants, which is their right and therefore their right is to vote, then the formulas are discussions that will be thrown on the discussion table" , he said.
Lulzim Basha the day before, after the plenary session ended, told the media that he had conducted negotiations with internationals in order to bring the parties to the table for the electoral reform. But within 24 hours of such a statement, the internationals, including the US, the EU and the United Kingdom, denied such a thing.
Kulluri also added that he does not have any information that Basha had such a meeting. According to him, this is the competence of the mayor and Basha himself should be asked about this.
"The Commission's work starts on Friday. The fact that the OSCE is involved in the process shows that the international factor is always involved. The international factor has been interested in a fair process and interested in equality before the law. Whether there were contacts or not, I can't say that, the mayor knows that. I don't know of any case, that the internationals, since there was a dispute between the parties, have not intervened. I have no inflammation for conversations that have taken place, but the chairman is certainly in constant contact. "Basically, if things don't go right, the international factor will exert an influence to have a code that responds to the public interest," he said.
As for the quarrel and attack between the "pieces" of the DP, Kulluri said that Berisha attacks Basha for a single reason: "The only reason Berisha attacks Basha is not because of the mistakes that Basha has made in the leadership of the DP , because they did it together, but Berisha has only one problem; has a psychosis and thinks he is PD. By suspending Berisha from the parliamentary group, Basha has taken a clear position", he said in "ABC News".
As for bringing out the responsibilities for the case of "January 21", Kulluri underlined that Basha does not believe that he will avoid justice, if the competent bodies would always start an investigation and call him to testify, since during the protests and murder of 4 citizens in the Boulevard, Basha was the Minister of the Interior in the Berisha government.
According to him, Basha is a person who is not afraid of the law, but added that he has maintained a constructive approach.
"If there is an investigation for January 21, it is a matter for the prosecution. Basha will maintain the same standard. Basha does not even hinder investigations and should not be refractory. I don't believe that Basha is one of those people who is afraid of the law" , he added.
