Edi Rama has long been preparing a large reserve bench to throw in the main formation for years. It has even been said from the beginning that the candidates for mayors or even deputies will be the millionaire uncles who have become celebrities in the eyes of public opinion.
But this time in Congress, it seems that he has prepared the part to introduce into the parliamentary group of the SP, those people that he has kept on the bench for a long time, and that it seems that they will replace the Albanian socialists.
In his speech at the SP Congress, introducing the platform "the deputy we want", Rama said that its main criterion is that the provider has public support, a network that he brings with him to the SP, in order to increase votes.
But virtual popularity is not always electoral popularity, plus it depends on which part of the followers Rama spoke to in Congress.
Albania is neither Canada, nor France, or even Ukraine with a large number of inhabitants, where local communities constitute a large number of supporters. However, the principle logic of absorbing popular characters in the community is not bad. There have always been and there are characters or groups that have a connection to the territory based on the organization of associations or even individual activity that can be considered as a network of supporters. There are social activists, there are clergy, there are people who deal with the activism in the territory, but also businessmen. Edi Rama has made the latter an integral part of the SP since he became the head of the majority, but this time the game is completely different.
It is a question of a direct co-optation and without any connection with the organizations of the territory of the SP, of characters who have a support outside the organizations of the majority. As Edi Rama himself said in Congress. But what is it really about?
According to what it seems, it is a question of people who have support in three territories separated from the majority. It is about philanthropists or benefactors who have become celebrities these years because they used foreign funds to help people in need.
These 'VIPs' seem to be not only the new candidates for SP deputies, but also the new face of the majority. Although their face is quite charming, from the ideas that they have taken out of their mouths, they have not produced an innovation. But that doesn't matter, since the core is the lobby that conveys them. Edi Rama will fill 50% of the SP parliamentary group from Erdoğan activists; hoxhallare and charity, driving away the people of the SP structures, who are not really people who have a network in the community. These others have great power; congregation, people especially from the diaspora where they also receive endless funds, this is what Edi Rama will make the new MPs of the SP.
Deputies who will be Erdogan's people who circulate funds without end in the Muslim community but also in charity up to the diaspora. So far, it is about more than 15 MPs that Rama will include in the safe lists of MPs, and according to the probability, three will also be district leaders.
And in this way, it will replace or superimpose the connections in the territory, bringing the new membership as a political power of the left, despite the fact that it is not the left.
