Former President Ilir Meta stated that during the Justice Reform process, a "big game" was played to prevent it from being approved by consensus.
In an interview from his detention cell for "A2CNN", the President of the Freedom Party accused former DP leader Lulzim Basha of handing over the Justice Reform to Prime Minister Edi Rama through political "games" and with the help of former US official Charles McGonigal.
"It's not that I didn't expect the manner of the arrest. I was aware of this coup, so that laws would be made on the Constitution. It's not the fault of the 140 votes, the problem is with the anti-constitutional laws. Those 140 votes were cast by Ilir Meta alone, and Ambassador Lu has also admitted this. It was a big game not to approve the reform by consensus, but to use it as a moment to divide the DP, which happened later with the help of Lulush. The DP made the Justice Reform, so that Luli, with his games and with the help of McGonigal, could give the Justice Reform to Rama. Why didn't Luli take the election of Arta Marku to the Constitutional Court?!", Meta said.
He also commented on the justice situation in the country, saying that he hopes that SPAK and the courts "return to God's path."
