Tabaku from Berlin: Albania does not integrate with propaganda, but with reforms

Democratic Party MP, Jorida Tabaku, has completed a three-day visit to Germany, during which she held meetings at the German Foreign Ministry, Bundestag, Chancellor, and with business and political representatives in Berlin.

In a reaction published on social networks, Tabaku said that the focus of the discussions was the European integration process, the problems facing Albanian citizens, and the business climate in Albania.

"The main problems faced by Albanians and businesses are related to the law, law enforcement and the fight against corruption," Tabaku declared.

According to her, the lack of legal certainty and corruption continue to remain the main obstacles to foreign investment and the country's economic development.

The Democratic MP also praised Germany's role in supporting the European integration of Albania and the Western Balkans.

"Germany has been the main defender of this process, the main driver of the Berlin Process, and it does this for Albania and for Albanians," she said.

Tabaku emphasized that European integration should not be seen only as a political process, but as a project that directly affects the lives of Albanian citizens.

"These topics are political topics, but they are also topics of the lives of Albanian citizens," she declared.

Continuing her message, Tabaku described European integration as the main path for the country's transformation.

"The integration process is the only process that will change Albania," said the DP MP.

Tabaku stated that Albania can become a serious partner for European industry and investment, but this requires concrete reforms, a functional market economy, and institutions that guarantee fair competition and legal certainty.

"At the end of a three-day visit to Germany, at the Foreign Ministry where we discussed the integration process, the main problems that Albanians face, that businesses face, are certainly related to the law, related to law enforcement, the fight against corruption.

But the most important thing is the stance of the German government. Germany has been the main defender of this process, the main driver of the Berlin Process, and it does this for Albania and for Albanians, considering that integration is the most important project.

"These topics are certainly political topics, but they are also topics of the lives of Albanian citizens, because the integration process is the only process that will change Albania," said Tabaku.
