Ilir Meta request to SPAK: Let me meet Fredi Beleri in prison

The chairman of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta and deputy Petrit Vasili submitted a request to SPAK, where they want to meet Fredi Belerin, the elected chairman of Himara, sentenced to two years in prison for vote buying.

In the request, it is stated that Beleri is a representative of the coalition "Bashke Fitomjem" which also includes the Freedom Party.

The Special Court for Corruption and Organized Crime decided on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 to declare the elected mayor of Himara Municipality, Fredi Beleri, guilty of active corruption in the elections and sentenced him to 2 years in prison. The accused as his accomplice, Pandeli Kokaveshi, was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison, a measure that was suspended and placed on probation for three years.
