Intrigues before September 11: Edi Rama's 'patchwork' government:
Edi Rama /

The new cabinet will be larger, but no more credible: imported academics, former Kosovo ministers, children of old friends and Soros supporters, and even opposition members ready to bargain, in a government that no longer has the face of the socialists...

The lottery of Edi Rama's new ministers will apparently be played with high stakes until tomorrow morning, but Edi Rama has closed his cabinet list.

So far, it is learned that Belinda Balluku will maintain her position as deputy prime minister and important minister, but that her department is expected to be divided into two: Energy and Industry separately, and Infrastructure together with Economy separately.

Meanwhile, the next minister who will retain the post is expected to be Ulsi Manja.

The rest of the cabinet, which will be larger than the current one, is expected to undergo profound changes. Thus, two academic names are being rumored to come from London; namely Evis Sala and Lea Ypi.

Sala, an experienced doctor working in the UK, is known for her family friendship with Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Evis' mother, Valdete Sala, was the first director of the Soros Foundation in Tirana, in the early 90s she has a long-standing friendship with Rama, plus her brother, artist Anri Sala, is also a close friend of the head of government. Evis Sala is expected to be appointed to the post of Minister of Health instead of Albana Koçiu.

Lea Ypi has been rumored for the position of Minister of Education, or head of Albanian diplomacy.

In addition to Britain, it is expected that there will be two more arrivals from Kosovo in the government: Besnik Tahiri and Blerina Abrazhda.

Tahiri, one of Ramush Haradinaj's closest aides, has served as Kosovo's Minister of Regional Development and Foreign Minister. He is expected to be appointed Minister of Local Government and Infrastructure. Abrazhda is being touted as either Minister of Interior or Minister of Defense.

Former mayor of Berat, Ervin Demo is a strong candidate for the position of Minister of Education, or that of the Ministry of Tourism and Territorial Protection. So far, there has been more talk about the Ministry of Education, where he was deputy minister during the leadership of Lindita Nikolla.

Today, the name of Besiana Kadare, a diplomat who served at the UN and UNESCO, has also been circulating. The daughter of writer Ismail Kadare, seems to have returned to Tirana, where she has been active in several posts on social networks. One of which spoke about Tirana and its chaotic construction. This way of posting was taken as a signal for a possible candidacy of Kadare for the post of mayor of Tirana. But it is not surprising that the government is used, through a suitable post, to have her as a springboard until 2027.

Besjana Kadare is being talked about as the Minister of Culture the most, while the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is not excluded.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Finance and the new Ministry of Construction and Territory, perhaps even the Ministry of Economy, will be given to opposition exponents, whose names are being kept very secret by Rama.

In recent weeks, he has met a large number of former MPs and DP exponents at various levels, and there have been many discussions within the Democratic Party.

Former MP Dash Sula said a few days ago that he would not have refused a position in Edi Rama's government, while the head of the DP group in the Vlora municipal council also wrote on his social media, emphasizing that it is positive to have opposition members in the government./ Pamphlet
