"I am innocent", Meta: I do not bear criminal responsibility for anyone

Former President Ilir Meta declared his innocence and challenged the charges against him. In an interview from his cell, Meta said that there is no concrete evidence or criminal episode implicating him.

"I am innocent, not just because I declare it. Tell me one fault of mine, one episode, one accusation and I will give you an answer ," Meta said.

Asked if he shares the same stance regarding his associates, the leader of the Freedom Party emphasized that criminal responsibility is personal and individual.

"I do not share any opinion regarding legal, criminal responsibility, neither for my children, nor for my parents, for anyone, only for Ilir Meta. Because I can explain to you as a lawyer, criminal responsibility is individual,"  he told "A2 CNN".
