The head of PL, Ilir Meta, attacked the new Minister of Defense, Pirro Vëng.
In the statement to the media, Meta says that Vëngu is a suspicious figure and that the Minister of Defense cannot be both Greek and Albanian.
Meta said that Vëngu comes from the Port of Durrës and has committed a series of serious legal violations and has signed nonsense.

Meanwhile, the Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party, through the Chairman of the Group Gazment Bardhi, has today asked the SPAK to start investigations for the former director of the Durrës Port Authority, the new Minister of Defense, Pirro Vëngu.
"The reason for this report is a tender procedure carried out in July 2024 by the Durrës Port Authority, which has signed a consultancy contract with the Dutch company Royal Haskoning DHV, worth 12 million euros, for the supervision of works for the construction of the port of This contract was concluded by direct negotiation between the director of the Durres Port Authority, Pirro Vëngu, and the representatives of the private company Royal Haskoning, without being subject to the usual public procurement procedures To the Durrës Port Authority, Pirro Vëngu has avoided all the rules of public procurement, by directly selecting the winning company, openly harming the public interest and seriously damaging the State Budget, with the aim of the economic benefit of the private entity", reads the announcement of the DP.
