In fact, both have been sanctioned as "non grata" for corruption, crimes, connections to organized crime inside and outside Albania, and obstruction of justice through government pressure and bribery.
Therefore, Sali Berisha was isolated under "House Arrest" and is on trial for corruption, abuse of office and money laundering and under investigation for the 4 murders of January 21, 2011, but his son-in-law Jamarbër Malltezi, who has been under house arrest for 18 months, is also on trial with him.
In addition to the investigation into electoral crime, Tomë Doshi has also received a file from the Supreme Anti-Mafia Agency of Australia, filled with evidence of the creation, financing and management of a "Criminal Syndicate" based in Australia and Albania and with connections in England and the Balkans.
