Today, Nisma Thurje denounced in SPAK the former Minister of Agriculture, Frida Krifca and some officials of AZHBR, regarding the abuses of IPARD funds, which were stopped by the European Union.
According to the Thurrje Initiative, a value of around 70 million euros has been abused.
In an interview for News 24, Endri Shabani, head of the Thurrje Initiative, said that the purpose of the report is to set in motion justice not only for the fund given by the EU and that according to its bodies, there have been abuses, but also about 23 million euros of Albanian citizens' taxes.
"We were waiting for the final report of the OLAF office of the EC that came out on Thursday. We want SPAK to investigate what has been done with EU funds. There is a program called IPARD, where 70 million euros were distributed, which according to the EU were abused. Instead of going to agriculture, to fishermen, they went to oligarchs who build villas, hotels and restaurants. These should not have been profit-making entities. Of the 71 million euros, 23 million are our taxes.
We ask SPAK to do a full investigation. In addition to the investigation carried out by OLAF, what was done with these others should be investigated. There are cases denounced in the media where individuals who should have been qualified by AZHBR, were not qualified and others were qualified who are now being asked to return the money. We want to know what has been done with our money and what has been done with the EU fund. There could be an EU decision to leave us out of aid. A precedent must be set that anyone who takes Albania's integration into the EU as a hostage cannot do it without a thorn in their side" , said Shabani.
