The Secretary for Public Relations in the Democratic Party, Edvin Kulluri, spoke about the meeting held the day before by Prime Minister Edi Rama with Albanian immigrants in Athens.
According to him, the meeting was without any concrete value for the immigrants and only an expression of a useless nationalism that does not serve anyone, let alone relations with Greece.
"Nationalism in the Balkans serves those powers that want a destabilized Balkans. Kurti is a nationalist but he is not solving the issue of independence. Nationalism is tempting, but it leads nowhere. Patriotism is the true value that binds you to the country. but this is not patriotism.
When Greece opened its doors to Albanians, someone said thank you. Who welcomed the undernourished, unclothed Albanians in the 90s? Greece. Who are you boasting today in the middle of Athens, that the relationship with Greece is very complex and you cannot confuse Greece as a whole with elements that have this wrong view of Himara. You are going to challenge Mitsotakis, but what does Albania do here?
