Democratic Party MP Klevis Balliu said that Albania is being flooded with crime while Interior Minister Albana Koçiu is busy with propaganda.
Balliu raised the alarm about the worsening situation in the country, accusing the Ministry of Interior and the State Police of having become accomplices to crime.
The MP said that the situation where armed citizens circulate freely and without control is unacceptable for a NATO member country.
According to him, this is also the reason why the Ministry of Interior persistently avoids reporting to the Security Committee, refusing to account for the alarming situation on the ground.
"While crime is destroying Albania, the Ministry of Interior is engaged in propaganda. As a result, security in the country has declined significantly."
For a long time, the Ministry of Interior and the State Police have turned from guarantors of order into accomplices of crime.
How is it possible that in a NATO member state, so many armed citizens circulate freely, without any control from law enforcement institutions?
"These are precisely the reasons why the Ministry of Interior persistently avoids the call of the Committee on Internal Affairs and Defense to account for the alarming public security situation in the country," Balliu writes.
