" Parties should apply to the CEC for registration by July 22 at 4:00 p.m. The deadline for coalitions to register at the CEC is until July 24 at 12:00. The election campaign for the elections in Himare starts on July 27. The candidacy documents are submitted to the CEAZ for verification by July 25 ", the decision of the Electoral College states.
At the July 4 meeting in the Regulatory Commission of the CEC, no agreement was reached to approve the terms of the Himara elections. The members voted 3 in favor and 2 against, while a majority of 4 to 1 votes was needed to approve the decision.
The reason for the non-approval was the debate between the members about the validity of the presidential decree announcing the elections, as well as the CEC's decision to remove the mandate of Fredi Beleri as mayor of Himara.
