The Economy Committee, Tabaku criticizes the government: It has done nothing to
Jorida Tabaku

Deputy Jorida Tabaku, in the meeting held at the Economy Committee, stated that the number of unemployed is high.

" There is a very big problem with the market and whatever you do or ask for, this is an issue related to the market and to the competition and to the desire that today's young people are not showing to be employed in Albania, but prefer to leave. This is related to the situation in general, so we have to look at it more broadly than changes to a law that came a few years ago, it was changed, you are asking to change it again because the scheme, the guarantee fund is not working", said Tabaku .

Tabaku also states that the government has no policy to stop immigration.

Part of Tabak's speech:

I have some concerns related to the market and the way employment schemes work. 10% of young people benefit from schemes or who are registered at least 10% of young people who are neither in education nor employed.

Bearing in mind that the rate in the relationship says 27.8%, deputy. The minister said another figure of 26.1%, but we assume that this is the % of young people who are neither in school nor at work, that is, almost 1 in 3, while the EU average is 13%, which is half of this. Considering that there is such a large range of jobseekers, 70,000 who are registered at the Employment Offices, all the proposals you make here seem to me, that there is no reason to oppose them because if something is done that can help the market let's support it and don't have any complexes, but they all seem "cosmetic" to me!

Nothing in itself changes the essence or the fact that today the majority of the unemployed are all young people. The latest INSTAT data show that 17,000 people who entered the labor market in the last quarter are over 65 years old. Therefore, we must raise questions about the effectiveness of these schemes on the part of the ministry. Has the Ministry thought of anything related to the stimulation of sectors that are currently in demand, e.g. information technology, business support in this field, agritourism or tourism in general, which may be sectors that may have a little more demand than others, in terms of guarantee schemes I am referring to here.

There is a very big problem with the market and whatever you do or ask, this is an issue related to the market and the competition and the desire that today's young people are not showing to be employed in Albania, but prefer to leave. This is related to the situation in general, so we have to look at it more broadly than changes to a law that came a few years ago, it was changed, you are asking to change it again because the scheme, the guarantee fund is not working.

If the change is necessary to take advantage of the IPA III funds for the Western Balkans for employment, we approve it all together, but I believe that you must understand that an innovative employment strategy is needed here, because these young people who 1 in 3 is without work and without school, 1 in 3 leaves Albania should be an alarm bell for the government.

What measures are you taking? These schemes clearly do not have an optimistic result as they only have 4,000 employees per year. There is a problem that needs to be looked at differently. what are you doing about hiring young people who are from areas that have a high rate of attrition? I refer to the district of Dibra and Kukës, where the rate is higher there, 1 in 5 and 70% of the 40% of citizens who wanted to leave Kukës were young.

Whatever scheme you do with 4,000 people employed per year does not solve employment problems, it has to do with the market, with competition, it has to do with meritocracy in the public and private sector, so something is not working.
